In case of measurements of subsidence in the foundation plane of a road or railway embankment, or any other foundation ground; OTR suggests the installation of a plate settlement.

The column of the plate settlement is composed by a base plate in square galvanised steel, a measure rod made up by steel tubes, threaded at the end for joining,antifriction sheaths made up by a pvc corrugated tube and a steel levelling cap, threaded at the end to join the measuring rod.

How is it installed?

For the plate settlement installation is needed a cable 100x100x100cm. Once the excavation has been made, level it with sand and lay the plate on the bottom. Insert the plastic part into the tube of the bottom plate, taking care to keep the bevelled part facing upwards. Proceed by screwing in the first sleeve, fixing the plastic part at the bottom. Insert the first 2m pipe, securing the sleeve tightly, and insert the first piece of conduit until the plastic fitting disappears completely. Fix the conduit and fitting with adhesive tape and fill the first section with filler material. If not already fitted, fix the end cap to the end of the rod, otherwise continue with the installation: remove the levelling boss, insert the rod with sleeve and insert the anti-friction sleeve, joining it.
